shit you hear from able bodied people

– You should eat healthier!

– Try to exercise more!

– Doesn’t the medication prevent -said illness/symptoms- from happening?

– You’re faking

– Lose weight

– If I can do it, you can do it

– Stop complaining

– You were fine a few minutes ago

– You have to go home again? (This happens to me alot at my job, not in a nice way either)

– Just push yourself a little more

For all you able bodied people out there that have said this shit to me, y’all can royally fuck yourselves. No, I can’t push myself. No the medicine doesn’t always work. Yes I’m trying to lose weight but the medicine doesn’t allow me to. No I am definitely not faking. Eating healthier and exercising aren’t necessarily proper variables to stop my condition. When I’m having a bad episode at work or at a friend’s house it’s best that I go home so I can rest.

This is what disabled life is like.

We do what we can with as much effort as possible. Our success is different than yours.

Please stop the stigma. I’m already exhausted. Don’t add to it.
