me thinkin abt how perry the platypus is Often referred to as an egg laying mammal, even in his theme song:
Not to forget when Candace was in his body she was able to sweat milk.
considering everyone in the family was totally accepting of the fact he could lay an egg, everyone in the family thus is aware of and loves their trans platypus
There’s also a scene where a professional platypus hunter makes mention of the venomous spurs of the male platypus—as i recall, Doofenshmirtz is surprised, and questions Perry about it, only to get a shrug in response and no indication that Perry has spurs in the first place….
Me, in tears, halfway through writing a 300 word essay:I can’t do this anymore
Person on A03 who’s writing for fun:
Inconvenient Truth: these are the same person
FUN FACT (I shall shout this for every psychology thing I’m spouting from now on. beware the fun facts if you hate being knowledgeable about psychology.)
People are more willing and able to do things that they are intrinsically motivated to do (and often do them better). Intrinsic motivation being, that they enjoy it.
Extrinsic motivation, such as getting good grades, money, award, etc, is… (subjectively) a good source of motivation. HOWEVER, if you already are intrinsically motivated, and you add extrinsic motivation, you are less likely to be willing to perform that activity as well/as often.
The truth is that, a 300 word essay for school is extrinsically motivated and you get easily annoyed/frustrated/tired with/of it, while the 1,920,265 word work that you’re doing for fun is- just that, fun. Intrinsically motivated.
(You can also turn extrinsically motivated activities into intrinsically motivated ones and people become more likely to do it, do it better, and have more fun doing so! Just be careful not to turn your intrinsically motivated activities into extrinsically motivated ones….)
Is this why if you were planning to do something but someone tells you to do it you suddenly don’t want to do it?
Hummmmmmm…. partly. It also helps if you A: don’t like the person that told you to do it B: Didn’t actually wanna do the task in the first place C: are a contradictory person who hates being told what to do. D: a few other random things that I’m kinda blanking on rn.
