This is at the beginning so I can understand how it can get overlooked but it’s important. Everyone is talking about how Logan is ignoring his feelings. And for some reason, there is a running bit about the differences between literal and figurative. Which might seem strange if a bit funny, but why does it get brought up again and again?
Logan is ignoring his feelings, yes true, but figuratively and literally!!! But in this post, I want to focus on that literal part. When does Logan literally ignore his emotions?
“Oh hey!! It’s Patton!” [to Logan’s first appearance]
*Logan doesn’t say hi nor acknowledge’s Patton’s existence*
Oooh, ouch. Straight up cold shoulder. And then while I was examining the rest of the video, I was SHOOK to find more instances of this happening :O
More under the cut cause I’m gonna get screenshots and thoughts on this 😛
I think Logan not acknowledging his own feelings correlating with him not acknowledging Patton wasn’t something I’d picked up on, and you’re brilliant for pointing it out. Mind if I add one more interesting thing that kind of relates to this?
When Logan has an emotional outburst–the moment when he snaps at Virgil “I’m not a joke!”–where do his eyes immediately go to?
Patton.
A very fleeting moment that I think supports the notion that Logan’s lack of acknowledgement of his own feelings correlates in general terms with his dismissal of Patton. In this case, when Logan showcased a brief glimpse at his emotions, I think he was afraid that Patton, with all his emotional intelligence, would see right through his emotionless bravado. (And Patton absolutely does.)
The “I’m not a joke” comment while looking over to Patton could also be because Patton discovered Logan making puns in “Crofters: The Musical” and Logan still feels he has a point to prove that he is serious and does not joke around ever with how serious he is about something
